All of our Instructors have STEAM-based Degrees and have experience with working with students of all ages in various education backgrounds such as School, Camp, and After-School Programs!
Founder
Amber Matthew
Amber graduated from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and Systems Analysis. After graduation (2016), Amber has taught courses in Math, Robotics, Programming, and Game Design in In/After School Programs, Camp, and Tutoring Centers. At STAR Learning Lab, you will find Amber leading some of our Scratch, Robotics, and Science courses.

Shanell Johnson
Shanell Johnson is a 12 year Baltimore City Public Schools Special Education teacher and founder of K.E.P.A, LLC. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Lebanon Valley College, and a Master’s degree in Human Service Administration from University of Baltimore and Coppin State University collaboratively. She is Maryland State certified as an Advanced Professional Special Education Teacher and is actively teaching 5th and 6th grade Literacy and Math.
